Astrobots Demystified

The Astrobots of Skunkadelia range in size from pocket-size to life-size. Given the wide variety, it makes a lot of sense and a bit of fun to organize them into classes. Currently there are nine classes of Astrobots.

How Can I Tell What Class An Astrobot is?

Every Astrobot has a class associated with it. It’s easy to learn more about them once you understand the taxonomy.

From the Website

On the website, the Astrobot’s listed name includes a letter followed by a number. The letter represents the class of Astrobot, and the number is the order in the series. For example, Zzyzzy J327 is a Jupiter Class Astrobot – the 327th Astrobot made.

From the Serial Number

Each Astrobot has a copper boilerplate TIG welded to the back, which includes a serial number. The serial number comprised of the date it was born in YYMMDD format, then the class letter and the series number as described above. For example, Zzyzzy’s serial number reads 171123J327, which means he was completed on the 23rd of November 2017.
