Imaginative artist Michael Stasiuk and I are excited to talk about the importance of play and how it feeds the creative process. I’m hoping folks will find it enjoyable, and hope to spark meaningful conversations after the talk.

Child’s Play offers a look at the protected bastion of childhood through the eyes of adult artists working in contemporary craft. This exhibition features works that explore the duality of play and seriousness across mediums. Toys, games, and kinetic objects featured in this show express a childlike sense of play at first glance, but reveal sinister undertones upon closer inspection. While sober considerations arise in this show, the works remind viewers to hearken back to the days of yore and consider life (and art!) with a child’s delight.
