articulated neck

Sometimes a small detail or feature of a design can add more than one may initially think. Nearly every robot sculpture I have made has the ability to rotate their neck: because you can rotate the body while keeping the gaze forward, which makes for a large range of body language choices. It allows the robot to express some subtle attitude, or looking at the viewer over the shoulder to look coy or surprised. If the neck bolt is welded on at a tilt the Astrobot can change the height angle of it’s gaze, which allows for eye contact from a lower or higher shelf, or a for a thoughtful downward look, as well as a hopeful, upwards gaze.
